Our Values
Jesus Being the Center: Since Jesus is the Savior, we want people to be attracted to Jesus, captivated by His love and changed into His image.
Jesus Being the Center: Since Jesus is the Savior, we want people to be attracted to Jesus, captivated by His love and changed into His image.
Gospel Being the Message: Since the Gospel changes us, we want the Good News of who God is and what He has done for us in Jesus to radically change our perspective and affect our actions.
Scripture Being the Authority: Since the Bible is the inspired Word of God, we want to be informed, equipped, and directed by it as we teach from and submit to it.
Holy Spirit Being the Power: Since the Holy Spirit is at work, we want to submit to His leading in our church, depend on His illumination for our growth, and trust in His power to change our hearts and others.
Community Being the Context: Since God created us for community, we want to operate and flourish in that space through authentic relationships, gospel conversations, and intentional service.
Mission Being the Motivation: Since we are missionaries, we want to find relational and creative ways to communicate the gospel as we sincerely love and serve those around us who don’t know Jesus.
What We Believe
God: We believe in one God, Creator and King of all things, who eternally exists in the loving unity of three equally divine distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three, having the same nature and perfections, are worthy of all worship, confidence, and obedience. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1,14; 10:30, 14:9)
Bible: We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. As such, this library of books composes the trustworthy and sufficient story of life and salvation in the Kingdom of God. (Mark 12:26,36; 13:11; Acts 1:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
Humanity: We believe that men and women are created in the image of God and are designed to be in loving relationship with God as they partner with God as His royal stewards and representatives for this good world. We believe God endows all human life with inherent dignity at every stage of life and from every ethnic background. Both male and female, equally made in the image of God, enjoy access to God by faith in Christ. God instituted the marriage covenant to be between one male and one female for life. Sexuality was designed by God and given as a gift to a husband and a wife, to be expressed only between man and woman within marriage. When joined in marriage, a man and woman serve as a type of the union between Jesus and His church and are the foundation of the family and society. (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7, 18-25; Psalms 139:13-14; Jeremiah 1:5; Ephesians 5:21-33; Mark 10:6-9; 1 Corinthians 7:1-5)
Fall: We believe that because of Adam’s sinful disobedience and rebellion against God, all of humanity is fallen, separated from the loving intimacy that God intended, and unable to image him properly. All of humanity has inherited a sinful nature, being alienated from God and incapable of truly restoring ourselves or our world. We believe that humanity’s greatest and deepest need is to be forgiven of sin and restored back into right relationship with God, and thus fulfill our ultimate purpose of imaging God as we worship and fully enjoy Him forever. (Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7; Romans 3; 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:18-19; 1 John 1:9)
Jesus: We believe that Jesus preexisted as God the Son, was sent by God the Father and willingly came into our world as fully man, while continuing to be fully God. We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a completely sinless life on our behalf, died a sinners death in our place, and physically rose from the dead declaring victory over sin and death. We believe that Jesus then ascended to heaven where He is currently enthroned at the right hand of God as the ruling Messiah and our advocate and intercessor. We believe that Jesus sent God the Spirit to His people to be with them and continue His mission on the earth. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:14, 8:40, 58, 11:33 14:9; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10, 10:9-13; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:8)
Salvation: We believe that salvation comes through the repentance of our sins and by fully trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus’ sinless life makes us righteous before God and His substitutionary death removes all our sin. We believe that salvation cannot be earned or purchased and can only be received as a free gift from God. Those who respond to the Gospel in faith are born again by the Holy Spirit and unified together with Jesus. This union incorporates us into the family of God; as members one of another we are responsible to keep the unity of the Holy Spirit in the bond of peace, loving one another with a pure heart. (Romans 3:21-24, 5; 1 John 2:1-2; Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:4-22; 4:1-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:13-15; Titus 3:4-8)
Holy Spirit: We believe that God the Holy Spirit enters the life of a person when they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. We believe that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is essential for and evidence of a person’s salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives gifts for serving one another and empowers believers to live holy and effective lives for the glory of God. (John 16:7-11; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9, 26-27; 1 Peter 4:10-11; 1 Corinthians 12)
Church: We believe that the church consists of those who believe upon Jesus as Lord and Savior. We believe that the church is one body with many members, unified through faith in Jesus, and that it exists to continue the work of Jesus by declaring the gospel, making disciples, and demonstrating God's love to the world. We believe that the church is called to love one another and to gather together regularly for fellowship, teaching, prayer, and communion. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47; Acts 20:28; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 12:27 Colossians 3:12-17; 1 Timothy 3:15)
Eternity: We believe that people were created with both body and soul. We believe that after the body dies, the soul of a person continues on into eternity. We believe in the resurrection of the body of both the saved and the lost. We believe that heaven is the eternal destination for all people who have placed their faith and hope in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe that a literal hell is the eternal destination for those who have rejected Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We believe that the day is coming when Jesus will return to judge both the living and the dead. (1 Peter 1:3-5; Philippians 3:20; 1 Peter 4:5; Mark 9:42-48; 2 Timothy 4:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12; John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Rev 20:11-15)
